9:00 AM to 9:20 AM: Greeting the kids and attendance
9:30AM to 10:15 AM: Interactive lecture on day's topic
10:15 AM to 10:30 AM: Lesson review (Kahoot or Review Game)
11:00 AM to 12:00 PM: Lunch! (Please bring Sack lunch - Snacks provided)
12:00 AM to 2:00 PM: Stations Time (Each station has science experiment, game, or art project based on lesson)
Curriculum
DAY 1:
Starting the day with icebreakers and getting to know each other, kids will jump right into the days topic - The Brain and Nervous system. The kids will start with a lecture on the brain and nervous system and then jump into stations with fun games like measuring reaction time and blind candy taste test to learn how the nervous system communicates with the body and how the brain is our "boss"
DAY 2:
Today's topic is the Heart and circulatory system! Kids will start with a lecture on the heart and then go straight into fun stations like learning to take pulse, having a balloon activity learning how the heart works, and having a exercise activity to correlate how the heart beats faster with more exercise.
DAY 3:
Today's topic is the Skeletal System! Kids will get a lesson on some important bones in their body and then explore skeletal coloring pages, learn to wrap and splint a bone, and more in station time.
DAY 4:
Today's topic is the lungs with a focus on breathing and how our body gets air. Kids will start with a lecture on the lungs, and a fun game of Blood Flow tag where kids play as the heart, lungs, and body. Station time will include a balloon activity on how the lungs gain and release air, and more fun activities!
DAY 5:
Today's topic is Germs! Through fun activities like a glow germ lab, and more last day crazy lab experiments we will celebrate our last day of camp and our "graduation" from STEM for kids!
